In a word, deep. Zesty warmth on the nose gives way to vanilla and nutmeg on the palate, with a soft smokiness from our Orkney heathered peat. The finish is sweet and nutty, with notes of crushed almonds and brown sugar.

The craft
The character of Sea of Orkney comes from whiskies matured in first-fill sherry-seasoned European and American oak casks, which respectively deliver strong notes of fruit and spice and sweet vanilla. We add refill casks to round out these flavours for a smooth and subtle end result.
The stories
Orkney’s powerful seas are the reason our coastline is peppered with craggy cliffs and awe-inspiring rockstacks. But by bringing the warming waters of the Gulf stream to our shores, they also ensure that, though it’s never scorching here, it’s also never freezing, providing the perfect, cool and steady conditions for aging our whisky.
