Martin Markvardsen

Previously a Danish boxing champion, Martin was once Whisky Manager at the world-famous Speyside Craigellachie Hotel’s Quaich Bar before becoming Highland Park’s Senior Brand Ambassador. He travels the world spreading the word about Highland Park to beginners and connoisseurs alike. Martin’s deep understanding of whisky means that he has contributed to numerous articles and books on the subject and he was awarded Scotch Whisky Brand Ambassador of the Year in the 2018 at the Whisky Magazine Icons of Whisky awards. In 2009, he was given the great honour of being made ‘Keeper of the Quaich’, becoming 'Master of the Quaich' in 2021, in recognition of his outstanding commitment to the Scotch whisky industry. In 2022, Martin was named Scotch Whisky Brand Ambassador of the Year in the Icons of Whisky awards.
