Gordon Motion

Gordon began his fascination with creating beverages long ago when he started brewing cider and beer at his home in Edinburgh, Scotland. After working in breweries and distilleries all over the UK he became Highland Park’s Master Whisky Maker in 2008. Part alchemist, part magician, Gordon’s role is to nurture whisky from new make spirit through maturation, marriage, harmonisation and final bottling, ensuring the highest quality throughout. When Gordon isn’t watching over our core range, he is busy experimenting, developing and crafting new whiskies for Highland Park. Having designed and built his own house in only two years, he now has his sights set on creating a new bespoke sample room at the Highland Park Distillery in Orkney.
