Between You and I is a 16-year-old single malt, crafted from virgin Swedish oak casks, ex-bourbon casks and sherry-seasoned oak casks. This special-edition, released in collaboration with Michelin-starred chef Björn Frantzén is all about discovering a more personal way to taste whisky, which is why, instead of tasting notes, each bottle comes with a set of prompts to help spark personal associations as you explore the whisky’s depths of flavour.

Between You and I is all about our own personal responses to flavour. No two people will share the same thing, so the question is: what will you taste? To help you explore its complex layers of flavour, every bottle of Between You and I ordered from our webstore comes with a set of 16 prompt cards that offer surprising ways to think about and share your response to the whisky.

Björn Frantzén
Meet Björn Frantzén. A restaurateur, former professional footballer and the only chef in the world to hold three Michelin stars at three restaurants simultaneously. We sent Björn the first bottle of Between You and I and asked him to tell us what he tasted, from fond memories to evocative flavours—and used his responses as inspiration for the packaging design.
The craft
A first in Highland Park history, this whisky is led by virgin Swedish oak casks, which give it a distinctly nutty spiciness. These are complemented by a handful of ex-bourbon casks to bring sweetness and warmth, as well as sherry-seasoned American and European oak casks for notes of vanilla and dried fruit.
The stories
In the subtly smoky notes and complex layers of Between You and I, Björn found many associations – from a tropical palm beach to memories of childhood baking in Sweden, and from the sound of rock music to his perfect pairing: a chilled vichyssoise with smoked haddock.
