MEET THE DISTILLERY VISITOR EXPERIENCE TEAM

Knowledgeable and friendly, our eleven-strong distillery visitor experience team is ready and waiting to introduce you to the wonderful world of Highland Park at our distillery in Kirkwall.

Charlotte Harrison

Before joining Highland Park, Charlotte worked in America as an assistant director at a sports camp. A big Eva Cassidy fan, she loves dance and musical theatre as well as running and gymnastics. Her favourite place in Orkney is Skaill Beach and her perfect dram is 1968 from our ORCADIAN VINTAGE SERIES.

Joanne Pottinger

A primary school teacher, Joanne plays hockey and badminton and also enjoys cycling and walking – her top spot in Orkney is Dingieshowe Beach. Equally at home on stage and in the distillery, Joanne loves singing old-fashioned country music and 18 YEAR OLD VIKING PRIDE.

Karen Warton

Previously a tour guide with the Highland Wildlife Park, Karen enjoys walking, reading and photography. Birsay is her favourite place to visit in Orkney and a glass of 30 YEAR OLD is her perfect way to end a busy day introducing visitors to life at the Highland Park distillery.

Keith Palmer

Although he admits to watching more than playing these days, Keith loves sport and unwinds listening to music from the 70s and 80s. A maths teacher before he joined Highland Park, Keith’s top spot in our islands is Hoy and he’s a big fan of 18 YEAR OLD VIKING PRIDE.

Richard Gorn

Having previously worked as a tourist guide, Richard is no stranger to creating memorable visitor experiences. When he’s not collecting beer bottles (!), Richard loves visiting St Margaret’s Hope, listening to rock music, taking photographs and relaxing with a glass of 18 YEAR OLD VIKING PRIDE.

Sergio Paulo

Sergio’s favourite Orkney landmark is the beautiful Italian Chapel. Before joining our team, Sergio was the operations director for an award-winning restaurant. These days, he likes to keep fit, enjoys jazz music and highly recommends our full-bodied yet vibrantly sweet 25 YEAR OLD.

William MacDonald

A keen angler, William’s perfect day would be spent fishing at Harray Loch. He keeps busy with DIY projects and relaxes by listening to rock and blues music with a glass of his favourite 18 YEAR OLD VIKING PRIDE. William joined us from NHS Orkney, where he worked for 22 years.

Kevin Ward

Rather fittingly, as Kevin loves 80s music and electro/rock, his favourite Highland Park is FULL VOLUME. Kevin was previously a staff nurse before he joined our team and he likes to keep fit with badminton and football (he’s on the FA Committee too!). Unstan is Kevin’s top spot in Orkney.

Rupert Wheeler

A book publisher before joining Highland Park, Rupert now entertains our visitors with his storytelling skills. An 18 YEAR OLD VIKING PRIDE enthusiast, he also loves model railways, cycling and listening to the music of Pink Floyd. Rupert’s favourite place to get away from it all in Orkney is Scapa Flow.

James Watson

James enjoys playing chess, reading and travelling and is fascinated by Swona, an uninhabited island with an intriguing history. James’ favourite band is Spaelimenninir – six musicians who play traditional and contemporary Scandinavian folk music – and he loves our complex and full-bodied 30 YEAR OLD.

John Strachan

John is a huge fan of the movie The Big Lebowski and the music of Ruben Blades and Seis Del Solar. He loves visiting Rackwick Bay in Hoy – one of Orkney’s most spectacular beaches – and his favourite Highland Park is our classic 18 YEAR OLD VIKING PRIDE.
