Much as we tend to be modest about these things, we’re thrilled to celebrate the brilliant work of Gordon Motion, our Master Whisky Maker, and Marie Gulliver, our Distillery Manager, and – of course – our wonderful Distillery Team. Thanks to their skilled craftsmanship and tireless effort, Highland Park has been shining brightly in this year’s whisky awards.
Here’s a rundown of the medal winners… and a quick reminder of what the judges found to love!
Thanks to slow maturation in predominantly first-fill sherry seasoned European and American oak casks, this spicy and well-rounded single malt Scotch whisky bears all the hallmarks of our classic Highland Park flavour profile – it’s packed with notes of sun-kissed oranges, richly spiced fruitcake and molten heather honey, all wrapped up in a cloud of heathery peat smoke.

Bottled at 44% ABV to allow its vibrant fruitiness and distinctive heather peat to shine through, you’ll find notes of fresh pineapple dressed with a scattering of lemon zest, freshly-baked vanilla sponge cake and toasted cinnamon shards in this single malt Scotch whisky. Matured for 15 years in first-fill sherry seasoned European and American oak casks, along with a few refill casks to add subtle complexity.

A sophisticated medley of ripe cherries dusted with bittersweet cocoa, freshly harvested honeycomb and candied orange peel – you’ll detect a whisper of salty seaspray in the aromatic peat smoke. This is not only the most highly-awarded single malt Scotch whisky in our portfolio, but was twice-named ‘Best Spirit in the World’ (Spirit Journal) by American whisky expert F Paul Pacult… we’re not going to argue with that!

Created from just 55 hand-selected casks, laid down in November 1998, this is a single malt Scotch whisky that’s truly come of age. Fresh ginger, sun-ripened oranges, soft ribbons of vanilla cream, a drizzle of honey and a hint of lightly toasted oak, all contribute to a superbly balanced flavour profile with a distinctive smoky and spicy complexity. Bottled at 46% ABV for a rich and full-bodied finish.
