You’ve written your cards, you’ve finished your shopping and now it’s time to start wrapping your gifts. Why not light a few candles and make yourself a truly indulgent drink to sip while you wrap. Go on, you deserve this!
LUXURY HOT CHOCOLATE WITH A VIKING TWIST
300ml hot chocolate (try a dark chocolate version for added indulgence points)
40ml 12 Year Old Viking Honour or 18 Year Old Viking Pride (or your favourite Highland Park)
Marshmallows (the big ones – this is strictly for the grown ups!)
Pinch of sea salt
- Using a pastry brush, lightly coat two or three marshmallows with whisky, and dip them in brown sugar.
- Make up a mug (preferably a Highland Park mug) of hot chocolate with milk or water, according to the pack instructions, add 40ml of Highland Park whisky and a pinch of salt, stir to combine.
- Lightly torch the sugar-coated marshmallows – over the fire pit or barbeque if you’re outside, with a cook’s blowtorch if you have one handy, or just under a hot grill – and pop on top of the hot chocolate.
