How was Highland Park 54 Year Old created?
Originally laid down in 1968, 4 refill butts and 6 refill hogsheads were combined in February 2008 and refilled into first-fill sherry seasoned oak casks, where the whisky continued to mature. The final 14 years of maturation has imparted an additional deep, rich, natural colour and wonderful intensity to the whisky, which was bottled at 54 years of age.
What can you tell me about the character of this whisky?

Lychees | Aromatic camphor | Vintage oak | Crushed cumin and coriander seeds fragrant rose | Sweet jasmine | Honeyed kiwi fruit | Pistachio biscotti | Fenugreek delicate heathery peat smoke
Intriguing aromas of exotic lychee and aromatic camphor, vintage oak and delicate peat, herald the exquisitely balanced sweet, rich and complex flavours that follow. Warm spices – crushed cumin and coriander seeds – emerge and subside to reveal fragrant notes of summer rose and jasmine, with just a hint of honeyed kiwi fruit and pistachio biscotti. Sweet and spicy at the end, woody notes give way to a lingering whisper of sweet fenugreek and heathery peat smoke.

This exquisite whisky has a UK RRP of £39,000.00 (including UK VAT and Duty). Once we know your shipping address, we will calculate any relevant taxes for your shipping destination and give you a final price which includes insured delivery to your door.

Where and when will Highland Park 54 Year Old be available?
Highland Park 54 Year Old is an extremely limited edition of 225 bottles. It will be available in selected global markets, primarily from specialist drinks retailers, from 23 February 2023 onwards. A very limited number of bottles will be available to purchase from our Kirkwall store and from our online shop.

When does the opportunity to register interest in purchasing open?
You can register your interest in purchasing 54 Year Old from 10am UK time on Thursday 23 February 2023.

Yes! ORDER COMPLETION AND PAYMENT QUESTIONS
If I am successful in securing the opportunity to purchase Highland Park 54 Year Old, how do I complete my purchase?
If you are successful in securing the opportunity to purchase, we will contact you by email in the first instance to confirm your preferred delivery address and payment method.
As each bottle and presentation case is finished by hand, we will release the bottles in small numbers over the coming weeks as they become available. When your bottle is ready to ship, we will contact you to arrange payment.
Only once payment in full has been received is your bottle fully reserved in your name.
We are able to accept payment by card or by bank transfer and will be happy to provide you with these details in due course.
What happens if my payment card has insufficient funds or credit available and my payment is declined?
If this happens, we will contact you via [email protected] to re-arrange payment.
I’ve received my email to make payment – how long do I have to pay?
Once you have received your payment email, you will have 48 hours in which to complete your purchase. If we have not received payment within 48 hours, your opportunity to purchase 54 Year Old will be withdrawn.
Can I add other items to my order when I’m completing my purchase of Highland Park 54 Year Old?
Unfortunately not. Due to its value, and the implications of insurance, logistics and shipping costs, Highland Park 54 Year Old must be handled as one entire order.
I’ve received an email confirming that I’ve been successful in securing the option to reserve a bottle, but I no longer want to buy – what do I do?

DELIVERY QUESTIONS
Which locations can Highland Park 54 Year Old be delivered to?

Do I need to be a resident of one of these countries to make a purchase?
No, you don’t need to be resident in one of the countries noted in the link above, but you do need to be able to give us a shipping address within one of them.
Why is this whisky not available for delivery to my country of residence?
There are different legal issues that affect our ability to deliver whisky ordered online to addresses outside the UK. We are continuing to work on a solution that will allow us to deliver to a wider range of countries in the future.
What extra charges might apply for delivery to my chosen country?
All the whiskies we sell are subject to UK alcohol tax. If we are exporting products to an address in the European Union (EU) prices are subject to the appropriate rate of VAT and alcohol tax depending on the delivery country.
For deliveries to Finland and countries outside of the EU, UK VAT will not be charged. However, your order will be subject to local sales taxes and duties upon arrival in your chosen country, which are levied at the time the package clears customs. All additional charges are the responsibility of the recipient. As customs policies vary widely from country to country, we have no control over these charges. Please contact your local customs office for further information.
To ensure that your bottle is adequately insured in transit, an insured delivery is added to each order of Highland Park 54 Year Old.
When will I receive my order of Highland Park 54 Year Old?
We expect most orders to be delivered within 10 working days, following payment in full of your order. If you have not received your bottle within this time, please contact [email protected] and we’ll come back to you with an update as soon as we can.
Who will deliver my whisky?
Your order will be fulfilled by our fulfilment partners Mail Marketing UK. Deliveries within the UK will be made by Point2Point. Deliveries outwith the UK will be made by DHL.
Can I specify a delivery date?
Deliveries within the UK will be made by specialist courier, Point2Point. We will confirm with you your preferred date and time for delivery. While every effort will be made to meet your preferred delivery time, this cannot be guaranteed. We will confirm your delivery arrangements to you once these have been finalised by Point2Point.
Deliveries outwith the UK will be made by DHL. Purchasers will receive a shipment notification from DHL that allows you to track your delivery and, if required, delay it until a specific date using the “holiday hold” option.
Please ensure that someone is available at your chosen delivery address on the agreed date to receive and sign for your delivery. In the event that you are not available to accept delivery to your chosen address, your order will be returned. If a redelivery is required, this will incur an additional delivery charge.
Whisky ordered online cannot be collected from the Highland Park Distillery or from the Highland Park Store in Kirkwall.
What happens if my order of Highland Park 54 Year Old is damaged in transit?
In the highly unlikely event of this happening, we’d ask you to contact us within three working days of receiving your order by emailing [email protected]. You should provide as much information as possible, including your order number, details of the damage and photographic evidence if possible. We will do our very best to provide a replacement if we can – and if we can’t, we will refund the full cost of the whisky. Please note that compensation will not be paid.
