54 YEAR OLD
BORN OF ORKNEY. RAISED BY HIGHLAND PARK
All stories start somewhere. With a place, or a time, or an event. This story starts in Orkney, an archipelago of islands scattered in the stormy waters off the northernmost tip of Scotland. Here, 225 years ago, Highland Park’s founder, Magnus Eunson, set up a whisky still high on the hillside overlooking Scapa Flow Bay. And here, 54 years ago, this incredible whisky was born.
MEET THE MAKERS
Gordon Motion, Highland Park’s Master Whisky Maker, has been carefully nurturing 54 Year Old – our oldest and rarest whisky to date – since 2008. Michael Rudak (Glass Designer) and John Galvin (Master Craftsperson and Designer) explored Orkney together, experiencing first-hand the magic of our island home and finding inspiration in the ancient, wild harmony of the landscape. Together they created an exceptional legacy. Here are their stories, captured in their own words.
