26 Years Through A Lens

Søren Solkær & Highland Park Whisky: 26 Years Through A Lens

Globally respected for his photographic work, Danish-born Søren Solkær is particularly noted for his iconic portraits of world-famous musicians, including Bjork, The White Stripes, Franz Ferdinand, The Arctic Monkeys and REM. Cinematic in tone and revealing a distinctive colour palette, Søren’s work has been exhibited in museums and galleries across the world.

In 2016, we commissioned Søren to help us bring the Highland Park brand vividly to life through his lens. During the time he spent with us in Orkney, Søren got to know the different members of our distillery team and captured them at work. The result is a collection of over 250 images that both reveal the whisky-making traditions we’ve followed for over 220 years and reflect the stark beauty of the Orcadian landscape that is our home.

Inspired by this collaboration and our appreciation of Søren as a genuine modern day Viking Soul, we began working with him to develop a special edition of Highland Park, celebrating 26 years of his extraordinary career.

Matured predominantly in sherry seasoned American oak casks and first-fill bourbon casks, this rich and spicy expression of Highland Park is bottled at 40.5% ABV. Brimming with flavours of cloves, cardamom and raisins, and infused with our trademark light, heathery peat smoke, it delivers a long, lingering finish.

This spectacular special edition of Highland Park is presented in a black leather case, modelled on the design of a classic vintage ‘box’ camera, and is accompanied by a beautiful book that traces Søren’s creative journey in words and pictures.
