The Battle of Jutland 11 Year Old
Our Viking ancestors once used Orkney’s ‘Scapa Flow’, a large natural harbour, to shelter their longships. Many hundreds of years later the Royal Navy sheltered their fleet in the same spot during World War One. From here they attempted to blockade the German Navy, and in the waters off the coast of Denmark, the largest naval battle of the war, The Battle of Jutland, was fought.
The Battle of Jutland 11 Year Old is a rare bottling from a single refill puncheon cask (#3378) laid down on the 31st of May, 2004. Only 582 bottles were created and released in April 2016. Bottled at 64% ABV, this bold whisky demonstrates rich layers of pineapple and grapefruit, balanced out with warm cinnamon spice and chocolate.
