Orkneyinga Legacy 12 Year Old

Legends aren’t born overnight. They only become legendary by earning their measure over decades or even centuries. Orkneyinga Legacy 12 Year Old is a testament to that which is worthy of being handed down and never forgotten – like our marrying process, which gives our whisky valuable time to harmonise in the cask before being bottled. Orkneyinga Legacy 12 Year Old was predominantly matured in European and American sherry casks and bottled in 2018 at its marrying strength of 46% to intensify the spirit’s distinct flavours. The resulting flavour is of sweet honey and fresh fruitcake balanced out with warm winter spices and rich layers of peat smoke. A percentage of proceeds from the sales of this special release went to the Orkneyinga Saga Centre, whose purpose is to protect Orkney’s historic monuments in Orphir and to ensure they can be handed down to future generations.
